 Problems logging in
« Result #1 on May 7, 2009, 11:13am »

I have checked the ProBoards support site, and it seems that recent problems logging in were caused by a combination of some code changes and updates to Internet Explorer. It should all be resolved now.

Of course, if you still can't log in, you won't know this.

If anyone reading this knows of someone else who still can't get on, ask them to e-mail me and I will try to help.

There ya go Baz, Keith has offered to sort it for you or I could always have a look as well, I think I've done yours before when I did Terry Hills but it was quite a while ago now though.

Uninstall any software you no longer require using Add/Remove Programs, then download CCleaner from here. If you need any help running it let me know.
Also get some Anti-Spyware software: Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, or Spy Sweeper are all useful.

Are you running a good anti-virus, Baz.? Getting broadband usually opens the door for thousands of dodgy e-mails, spyware, etc. Try www.ewido.net for a free anti-virus program - AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5

How to quote a message on another thread
« Result #24 on May 28, 2007, 9:26pm »

1. Open the thread that has the message that you want to quote.
2. Click on 'Quote' against the message you want to quote.
3. Highlight and copy EVERYTHING in the white box. Do NOT click on 'Post Reply'.
4. Open the thread where you want to post the quote.
5. Click on 'Reply'.
6. Paste into the white box everything you copied in step 3.
7. Right at the top you will see something like 'author=' and a username ('fred', for example). If you change 'fred' to 'fred on the Jokes thread' and preview you will see the 'quoting message' says 'fred on the Jokes thread wrote' (again, as an example). The word 'wrote' appears after whatever you type after 'author'

Example:

Quote:
Blackpool beat Yeovil in the league 1 playoff final

 Registering to the board
« Result #25 on Mar 23, 2007, 11:56am »

This goes out to all who would like to and are trying to Register.

I will assume you have read the other posts regarding registrations.

When you register with an email address other than an AOL one, it comes to me for approval, before I approve your membership I send an email back to you, to the email address you have registered with, asking for your real name, the club you bowl for and your BCGBA number to check who you are. The information you supply to me is confidential and I promise, will not be given out to anyone unless you verbally abuse or threaten any other member of this forum.

YOU MUST CHECK YOUR EMAILS SO YOU CAN REPLY TO THE ONE I SEND YOU.

If you try to register with fictitious email address you will not receive the one from me and your membership cannot be approved.

Once you relpy to my email, another email will be sent and all you have to do is follow the link it supplies and you become a member who can now post.
